A Bold, Minimalist Renovation in Saugerties, NY
One of our favorite renovation projects of 2023 took place in Saugerties, NY where we worked with clients who had a keen eye for style and a vision for a minimalist yet vibrant design palette. The result is a home that balances clean lines, warm textures, and striking color choices—proving that modern and playful can coexist beautifully.

Master Bathroom: Handmade Tile & Freestanding Tub

• Walk-In Shower: The star of this space is the walk-in shower, clad in handcrafted tile from Zia Tile. The vertical orientation and rich hue create a dramatic focal point that’s both modern and inviting.

• Freestanding Tub: Despite spatial constraints we managed to incorporate a luxurious freestanding tub. Its sleek silhouette offers a perfect spot to unwind while maintaining the bathroom’s minimalist aesthetic.

• Walnut Vanity: A walnut vanity adds warmth and contrast against the green and slate tones. The natural wood grain not only complements the surrounding colors but also introduces an organic element that grounds the design.

Kitchen: Contemporary Green & Stainless Steel

• Dark Green Cabinets: Green kitchens are always a win in our book and this one is no exception. The bold color choice lends a contemporary edge while still feeling welcoming and timeless.

• Slim Stainless Steel Countertops: To accentuate the modern feel, we opted for a 1/4"-thick stainless steel countertop from Metal Works Limited—a departure from the traditional 1.25" thickness. The slimmer profile aligns perfectly with the home’s minimalist ethos, making the countertops both visually striking and highly functional.

Design Highlights & Outcome

Throughout the remodel the clients’ willingness to embrace color allowed us to deliver a cohesive, eye-catching design. From the handmade Zia Tile in the bathroom to the statement-making green kitchen, each space reflects a thoughtful blend of simplicity and personality. The end result is a home that feels refreshingly modern yet comfortably livable—an inviting retreat in the heart of Saugerties.
